Diana started with our Upward Bound program at the beginning of her freshman year at Western Brown High School in 1996; she continued to participate in Upward Bound (with excellent attendance!) through her high school graduation.  During Diana’s high school years she was on the High School Honor Roll, was a member of the French Club, participated in the Mock Trial Team, and each year played clarinet in Marching Band (with her first year being in 8th grade—a total of 5 years!). During her senior year, Diana participated in the OAEOPP Student Leadership Conference, where she was chosen to make introductions of several speakers. After graduating from high school, she took summer college courses through the auspices of the Upward Bound Bridge Program—as expected, she did very well (above a 3 point average).

Diana is a very perceptive, lively, and dedicated young lady; she is currently attending classes at UC-Clermont with a full time schedule and using her many talents to assist our Upward Bound Program in her role as Student Assistant.  She attained the honor of being on the Dean’s List, autumn quarter 2001 and is well on her way to the same honor for winter quarter. She is the oldest of three in her family, and is the first in her family to attend college; to date, she is exemplifying success, and serving as an excellent role model for her two younger siblings (one of whom has also been an Upward Bound participant, and is currently in her first year of college!).
