Preparing to Teach Online Workshops

This asynchronous workshop is designed to provide you with an overview of evaluating learner progress toward the achievement of learning objectives as well as an overview of designing learning activities that support learner interaction and engagement. The workshop is divided into two modules, Assessment and Learning Activities/Learner Engagement. When learning activities relate directly to the learning outcomes, and assessments accurately measure what students are learning, then course alignment exists. Each module will consist of a short overview to introduce you to the contents of the module, followed by a collection of learning materials such as readings, videos, and resources. Each module will consist of a variety of learning activities aligned with the course and module objectives.

This asynchronous workshop is designed to introduce participants to accessibility for all students. The workshop will cover Quality Matters General Standard 8, accessible documents, video captioning and procuring accessible technologies. Additional information will be provided on how to best implement accommodation requests from students presenting an Accessibility Resources Accommodation Form. Finally, we will review the various accessibility resources at UC.

This asynchronous workshop will introduce you to how learning technologies may support student collaboration, reflection, creation, sharing, and other key elements of learning and provide opportunities for you to explore and consider how they may do so in the course that you teach. The workshop will conclude with a final project you will share with the broader UC Clermont community.
