Instructional Tools

In the field of online education, a variety of tools can be used to support student learning. We have provided some instructional tools on this page. Hopefully, you will find some tools that can be used in a meaningful way in your classes.

Available for UC Instructors

WebEx is a web-based conferencing tool that allows users the ability to host a variety of events, from small group meetings or virtual office hours to large webinars or conferences.

Please refer to the Using WebEx page.

Kaltura and MyMedia

Kaltura is UC’s video content creation, streaming and video repository tool. Kaltura video server allows both instructors and students the ability to create, upload, and publish video in courses.

Please refer to the Using Kaltura page.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a team collaboration software that is part of the Office 365 suite of applications. All UC faculty and students have free access to it. The core capabilities in Microsoft Teams include business messaging, calling, video meetings and file sharing.

Please see Using Microsoft Teams page.

Respondus Test Maker

Respondus is a test building software that allows instructors to create tests that can integrate with Canvas both on and offline.

The license for Respondus 4.0 has been renewed, and the key will be available on the Faculty and Staff Software site in mid-July. Please note that you will need to login with your UC credentials to get the new key. If you are prompted for a new license key before the page is available, please email Megan Paxton Wuebker (wuebkemp@ucmail.uc.edu) and she will send it to you.
