Using Virtual Desktop - MyDesk

UC MyDesk

UC Clermont has set up a virtual desktop—MyDesk so that faculty and students in online courses can use course-related software at no extra cost from the convenience of your home.

UC MyDesk provides access to many commonly used applications, including Office Suite 2019, SPSS, Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Acrobat, etc. Please review the complete list of applications at the bottom of this page. 

Access MyDesk

Instructions

Step 1: To access the UC MyDesk please use your browser to navigate to https://mydesk.uc.edu

Step 2: Select Access VMware Horizon Client HTML Access

When you get to the link you will see two options:

  1. Install the VMware Horizon Client, 
  2. Access VMware Horizon Client HTML Access. We recommend using the VMware Horizon Client HTML Access for your first try of accessing the desktop as it does not require you to install a client.

Step 3. Log in with your UC central login

Once you select VMware Horizon Client HTML Access, You will then be prompted to enter your UC login (your 6+2 username) and your password 

You need to go through Duo Two-Factor Authentication to log in with your UC account

Step 4: ISelect Clermont Student Desk

After you logging in you will see four desks available, please select Clermont Student Desktops. Then you will be able to access MyDesk. 

Step 5: (Optional): If you want to install the client to access MyDesk, please read the Knowledge Base Article MyDesk Virtual Desktop Client Access
