Respiratory Care Costs
The respiratory care program takes 21 months (five consecutive semesters) to complete. These are the estimated direct costs of completing the program based on 2020-21 tuition, providing you take the required courses in the recommended semesters.

Students taking six or more hours of instruction are required to have health insurance per university policy.
Indirect costs like living expenses and transportation to and from classes and clinicals will vary widely, dependent on your lifestyle choices and home location. You are the best one to estimate those costs.
If you require student health insurance, it will add $1,804 per year (single coverage) to your cost. (Please note: Health insurance is not optional. If you do not have coverage, the state of Ohio requires you to purchase student health insurance.)
Following graduation, you can apply to take the Board Exams from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) There are two exams that must be passed to obtain your Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. Costs for the two tests are as follows: Therapist Multiple Choice Exam (TMC) - $190; Clinical Simulation Exam (CSE) - $200.
