First-Year Student Orientation

UC Clermont welcomes you to our Cougar community! We're excited that you made the decision to trust us with your next educational endeavor!

The mission of Orientation is to facilitate the successful transition of first-year and transfer students. New Student Orientation is the gateway to student empowerment, academic success and intellectual support.  

In response to coronavirus concerns, UC Clermont College will offer Summer and Fall orientation programs online through Canvas, a learning management system.

What is New Student Orientation?

Orientation is your opportunity to learn about important University policies, Registration, Financial Aid, campus resources and services, Student Life and Academic Advising. Orientation is completed through Canvas, an online learning management system.  The online orientation is designed to provide the necessary tools to ensure your success at UC Clermont College.

Placement Assessments & Orientation

Placement Assessments or qualifying ACT/SAT exemptions is your next step closer to being invited to your online orientation course. Please watch your personal email for important information about Placement Assessments.

Students are automatically sent an email notification to access and complete the online orientation within two business days of when Placement Assessments or relevant eligible test scores are received.

What happens after Orientation?

Meet with your Advisor & Schedule Classes

  • If you have not done so make to sure schedule your appointment through Starfish
  • Schedule your classes through Catalyst

Attend A Townhall Meeting

  • The Dean, One Stop and Academic Advising will hold two townhall meetings. These meetings are good for questions that come up after your initial orientation and advising session.
