Career coaching is a one-on-one process where students work with the EXCITE Center to develop a plan to acquire the tools and knowledge needed to develop a roadmap for their careers and capitalize on opportunities. Career coaching takes students from where they are, to where they want to be by building on strengths, passions and academic pursuits.
We meet one-on-one with students to discuss potential academic programs, career choices and experiential learning (internship, job shadow) opportunities to help a student assess their fit with a career pathway. For students who are on their pathway but need help with the nuances of industry, we provide coaching on career opportunities in specific business segments.
The process of career coaching includes an option to take career assessments. These assessments reveal trends and themes, and help students undertaking the career discovery process with making sense of their choices.
