The Faculty of UC Clermont College are pleased to be able to recognize students that demonstrate outstanding academic qualities. Every spring, an Honors Ceremony is held to recognize students who have been nominated by UC Clermont College faculty and selected to receive honors.
Program Honors: Awarded to students demonstrating outstanding achievement while majoring in a specific academic program. Eligibility includes a minimum completion of 30 semester credit hours and a GPA of 3.5.
Sophomore Honors: Awarded to students demonstrating outstanding achievement in disciplines with no corresponding program. Eligibility includes a minimum completion of 30 semester credit hours with a minimum of 4 semester credit hours completed in the discipline and a GPA of 3.5.
Freshman Honors: Awarded to CCP/Non-Matriculated students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in a specific academic discipline. Eligibility includes a minimum completion of 4 semester credit hours in courses designed for majors and a GPA of 3.5.
Graduating students qualifying for Honor Cords will receive their cords at the Honors Recognition ceremony. Designation of Latin Honors are based on a student’s university grade point average.
Summa Cum Laude “with highest honor” requires a GPA of 3.90-4.0
Magna Cum Laude “with great honor” requires a GPA of 3.75-3.89
Cum Laude “with honor” requires a GPA of 3.60-3.74
Spirit of Community Award: Awarded annually to an outstanding UC Clermont student who best exemplifies the qualities of service and leadership to their college and community. UC Clermont faculty, staff, and students are eligible to nominate for this award; students may nominate themselves.
Nominees should possess one or more of the characteristics listed below:
- Displays a commitment to their educational success (must be in good academic standing);
- Has contributed to UC Clermont through student organizations and/or student activities;
- Is involved in his or her community through church, school, and/or other volunteer agencies;
- Demonstrates leadership qualities through personal initiative.
USCAA National All-Academic Team Honors: Awarded to student-athletes who have earned at least 24 credit hours and who have at least a 3.5 GPA.

Awardees should plan to arrive at 5:30pm to check-in at the entrance of Krueger Auditorium.

1. Arrival Time and Check-In Expand
Awardees should plan to arrive at 5:30 p.m. to check in at the desk at the entrance of Krueger Auditorium. Guests do not need to check in.
Please keep in mind that 32 East can be very congested at this time of the day so plan travel time accordingly.
2. What to wear Expand
Business casual (dress pants/slacks/khakis, dress shirt, skirt/dress) is recommended but not required. Jeans and other clothing you feel are comfortable are also fine.
3. Where to sit Expand
You may sit with your guests anywhere in the auditorium. At the appropriate time, your award group will be called to the stage.
4. Photo Opportunity Expand
Your guests are welcome to take pictures from in front of the stage. We will also have a photographer taking group pictures. You are also welcome to take pictures before and after the ceremony.
