Career Coaching
Career coaching is a one-on-one process where alumni work with Career Services to assess their tools and knowledge to explore job opportunities that leverage both education and experience. Career coaching takes alumni from where they are to where they want to be by building on strengths, passions and academic pursuits. We will help you position yourself to be the best candidate you can be!
Coaches meet one-on-one with alumni to discuss past experience and potential career choices. For alums who are on their pathway but need help with the nuances of industry, we provide coaching on career opportunities in specific business segments.
The process of career coaching includes an option to take career assessments. These assessments reveal trends and themes, and help alumni undertaking the career discovery process with making sense of their choices. Tools include:
- VIA Character Strengths — The VIA Inventory of Strengths is a psychological assessment measure designed to identify an individualâs profile of character strengths. The VIA-IS is composed of a 240 item measure of 24 character strengths.
- O*NET Interest Profiler — The O*NET Interest Profiler can help you find out what your interests are and how they relate to the world of work.
- Career OneStop — Interest, Skills and Work Values assessments help you to learn more about how well a variety of careers might suit you.
