What is the Academic Writing Center (AWC) at UC Clermont?

The Academic Writing Center (AWC) provides free writing tutoring to help UC Clermont students build confidence and skills in writing. The AWC can help with any writing assignment for any course and at any stage of the writing process. The AWC is not course-specific and can help with discipline-specific documents, as well as non-course-based writing (e.g. resumes, scholarship applications, etc.). AWC services are open all students enrolled in UC Clermont courses.

Will the AWC edit my paper?

The AWC is not an editing service. Tutors do not proofread to correct every mistake in a paper. Rather, through tutoring, the student acquires the skills and strategies to edit their own papers and improve the quality of their writing.

How do I schedule an appointment?

To make an appointment click here or stop by the Front Desk on the first floor of the Fred Marcotte Library.

Additional writing services are available through AWC at UC Clifton and are accessible to any UC student. These services include in-person and virtual tutoring appointments or submitting papers for asynchronous feedback. Please visit the AWC website and the Learning Commons website.
