Academic Affairs

The Office of Academic Affairs at UC Clermont College is responsible for oversight of all academic functions of the college. We work with the college's five academic departments on program development, student outcomes assessment, program assessment, data collection and analysis, outreach and course scheduling. The Library, EXCITE Center, Placement Assessments, the College Success Program and the Business and Educational Outreach Office are part of Academic Affairs as well.

Mission & Values

Academic Affairs is at the core of UC Clermont College's mission of open-access, student-centered education. We model positive, supportive relationships and offer intentional, cohesive support for faculty and student academic excellence. We value innovative and diverse approaches to student success, persistence and completion.

High-Impact Practices

The best undergraduate educations include High-Impact Practices, a range of experiences within and beyond the classroom that enhance course work for students. The American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) says that research on high-impact practices proves that students who are engaged in at least one of these practices are more likely to succeed in college.

UC Clermont offers the following high-impact practices for students:

  • First-Year Experience courses
  • Writing-intensive courses
  • Collaborative assignments and projects
  • Undergraduate research
  • Diversity/global learning
  • Service learning and community-based learning
  • Internships
  • Capstone courses and projects
