Academic Affairs

The Office of Academic Affairs at UC Clermont College creates a cohesive and supportive environment for both faculty and student excellence. Academic Affairs plays a crucial role in supporting students’ full academic participation and success by collaborating with the college’s six academic departments and beyond.

Academic Affairs Responsibilities

Academic Affairs collaborates with faculty to design and update curriculum, ensuring that all courses align with the college’s mission, meet accreditation standards and cater to diverse student needs.

Support Services offered by Academic Affairs include academic advising, tutoring and other academic support services to contribute to student success. This includes helping students choose their major, plan their course schedules and navigate academic challenges.

Academic Affairs oversees faculty recruitment, hiring and professional development. This includes promoting effective teaching practices through the Center for Faculty Engagement and the Center for Learning & Teaching Innovation. Academic Affairs also supports faculty in their research and scholarly activities.

The Office of Academic Affairs manages the college's accreditation processes and ensures compliance with educational standards. Additionally, they assess student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.

With focus on the Bearcat Promise, career coaches will help guide students' future planning. Whether they need to select a major or prep for post-graduation success, the Career Services Center helps students navigate their professional journeys. The office also collaborates with faculty and community partners to create internships and hands-on learning experiences to prepare students for what's next.

Academic Affairs coordinates class schedules, registration, and course availability. They strive to accommodate students’ preferences and optimize resource utilization.

Academic Affairs guides students through their specific degree requirements, track students' progress and facilitate graduation. These duties also include evaluating transfer credits and awarding degrees.

Outside of academics, the Office of Academic Affairs also works closely with Student Affairs to create a holistic student experience. Together, they are able to address academic and non-academic needs, fostering student success.
