Respiratory Care Important Information

Respiratory therapists (RTs) are specialized clinicians focusing on the heart and lungs to assist patients in leading healthy active lives. RTs can be found in hospitals, nursing homes, home health care, diagnostic testing facilities and various other specialties. Respiratory Care Program Information

Program applications for Respiratory Care open on January 1 of each year. To learn more about the admissions process, RSVP for a virtual information session and review the following resources:

Admission to the Respiratory Care (RC) Program is competitive, with up to 25 students admitted to the core level of the Respiratory Care Program each year. Once the prerequisites are complete, an application to begin the program can be submitted during the next application cycle.

Respiratory Care Program Advantages

After successful completion of the first clinical semester, students can apply for a limited student permit (L1) in their desired state of practice. This limited permit allows students to work in a respiratory department, under the supervision of a respiratory care professional, while completing the respiratory care program.
