Tests for College Credit
DSST
DSST is a program that allows students the chance to gain course credit for prior learning by earning qualifying scores on their 30+ exams. DSST exams cover a variety of subjects, including business, humanities, math, physical science, social science and technology.
(Please note: UC Testing Services does not administer the DSST Principles of Public Speaking Test.)
For UC Students
UC accepts credit for DSST exams based on faculty approval and your enrollment status. DSST credits will only be applied if you are a currently enrolled student, although they will remain in our system if we receive them while you are not enrolled. DSST Key 2015.
In all cases, we recommend that you speak with your advisor about the DSST key that applies to you and make sure that it will meet any degree requirements that you have.
For Non-UC Students
Anyone can take a DSST exam at UC's Testing Services. The process for registration is exactly the same. You will, however, want to be sure to speak with your academic advisor or someone in the Registrar's office at your college or university to make sure that the DSST test you want to take will be accepted at your school and will give you the credits that you are looking for. Do not reference UC's DSST keys -- they are determined by UC and have no impact on how other institutions choose to apply DSST credits.
Fees
- $80.00 fee payable to DSST at the time of the exam. Fee must be paid by credit card and is determined by DSST and is subject to change.
- $28.00 payable to the University of Cincinnati Clermont College. You will pay this fee online when you schedule your appointment.
Please note: Retakes for the same subject generally require a waiting period. It is the responsibility of the test taker to ensure that the proper amount of time has passed before rescheduling. Any appointments made before the waiting period has expired will result in a forfeited administration fee.
College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
